Backstory: Born in the Forge, Sanderson "Sandy" Barrera spent his formative years in Barrera Clan territory in the heart of the Terminus. Bright from a young age, Sandy excelled in the sciences, attaining advanced degrees in biology, organic chemistry, and forensics before many of his peers were finishing high school... as a result, Sandy was always the "odd" kid. That didn't stop him from getting close with Chief Barrera's daughter, though... Sandy was banished from Barrera Territories after the Chief discovered the "weird kid" with his little princess. The Outlands seemed as a good a place as any to lay low for a few years, and Hearth is at least livable, as far as orbital outposts go.

Corey is a crewman on Hearth; he came in from the Terminus as a teenager after a raid on his settlement left him an orphan. He took heart in an old-world book of scripture, and has been working to spread the Word as he reads it and establish a safe haven on Hearth for converts to his faith.

Dr. Marud is one of the Alima medics on Hearth Station. Rumor has it he was a successful trauma surgeon back in the Terminus, but he fucked something up pretty bad... instead of being drummed out of the Alima, he ended up in the Outlands on an orbital station. He came well-equipped, though, so the local Chapterhouse chief couldn't really turn him away.

Sergeant Roland Pearson

Sergeant Pearson has been on the station since before Dr. Barrera arrived. He's a topic of conversation among the young women at the bar, but as far as anyone knows he's married to his job. He has been known to go off on a path before having all the facts, though, which has likely kept him from advancing past Sergeant.
